About Us

Pieces of Jayde is both a jewelry store and an eclectic shoppe, filled with unique items you won’t find anywhere else! My work is crafted from minerals, metals and a wee bit of magick.

I’m Jayde, founder and creator of Pieces of Jayde. I began making wearable art in 2010 with the inspiration to connect people with nature using jewelry as my medium. Since then, my business has grown and I was able to open a brick-and-mortar store in March of 2021! My husband Mike is my steadfast partner for the business and the maker of ring shanks, bracelet cuffs and all my show and shoppe displays. I could not do what I do without his support and encouragement!

Our home is located in Chesterton, in the Indiana Dunes, one of the loveliest places on earth! We are surrounded by nature in all her glorious aspects, from the mighty Lake Michigan just to our north of the old-growth forest in which our house is situated. I just have to walk outside to be inspired every day.

Each piece of jewelry is carefully handcrafted with the hope that by wearing it, you will feel the positive intentions infused into every piece. The items you’ll find in my shoppe are carefully hand selected to be artful, joyous and conscientiously created. If you find yourself in Chesterton, Indiana, come and see us! Otherwise, take a look here and find something to feed your soul..

Our Story

Pieces of Jayde began in 2010 with a stone found on the shores of Lake Michigan. Founder Jayde McAloon picked up that fateful crystal and wanted to honor it by having it made into a necklace. When she explored ways to make that happen, she found that wire wrapping it herself was the most favourable solution. Thus began an amazing journey of creating jewelry pieces for markets and art fairs as well as teaching the art of wire wrapping to hundreds of folks over the last decade.

After 10 years of traveling all over the country for shows and fairs, Renaissance and music festivals and even Krampus celebrations, Jayde decided to create a space to showcase her jewelry as well as products made by some of the cool folks she met along the way. The business grew into a little brick and mortar store on the west side of her home town of Chesterton, Indiana. She began adding products from small businesses with an emphasis on those who are woman and minority-owned. After a year in that location, the shoppe was bursting at the seams.

In March of 2022, we moved to the east side of Chesterton into our current location at 1587 South Calumet Road, in a building shared with several other woman-owned businesses. Our space is three times larger and has grown exponentially in what products we offer. As always, our focus is on the unusual, the small-batch and the locally made items that make our shoppe a happy place.
