Description

I call this series my “Howl at the Moon” wolves! The wolf head is thoughtfully carved from raw crystal.

These gorgeous, hand-carved crystal gemstone wolf heads are expertly carved by a vendor with whom I’ve been working for nearly five years. I have electroformed (copper dipped) each in pure, aged recycled copper.

This wolf is one of my larger ones. It’s made of green serpentine, and the moon is gorgeous grey green flashy labradorite.

A hand-patina has been applied to give them an aged look, including a clear, protective coating to help stop skin reactions with copper.

Cord is brown faux leather 24″L with lobster claw clasp.

Native American and Celtic custom regard Wolf as the way of find the deepest levels of self, of inner knowing and intuition. This is symbolized by the image of the wolf howling at the moon. Native Americans have long regarded wolves as teachers or pathfinders. In astrology, Wolf is represented by the Dog, Sirius, thought by many aboriginal tribes to be the home of the Ancients.

When you have the wolf as a spirit animal, it could be an expression of your sharp intelligence and strong instincts. The wolf symbolizes a strong connection with instincts and when it appears as a animal spirit guide, it could point to a way of perceiving and understanding the world around you that works similarly.

This piece is perfect for:
– spirit animal connections
– Viking costumes
– Ren faire outfits
– protection jewelry
– Pagan pride
– Wicca jewelry

Electroforming is a unique process of combining chemistry and alchemy to take natural objects and plate them in copper. It can take up to three days to create a single piece. Each piece has been given a dark patina and good old fashioned polishing with steel wool. My work has been clear coated to halt the oxidation process and to keep your skin from turning green. Over time, the copper on your piece may need a coating of clear nail polish to continue to keep the oxidation to a minimum.

Each piece is made by me in my studio right here in northwest Indiana, and is one-of-a-kind. The stones I use spend time under moonlight for cleansing before I work with them. I choose my materials very carefully for quality and provenance, including cruelty-free and eco-harvesting. All purchases come carefully packaged and ready for gift-giving!

Sincerely, your Stone Sister,
