Otherwise known as herb gardens, specialized medicinal gardens have been created at least since the Middle Ages, especially in monastery courtyards. During the European Renaissance, with the advance of medical and botanical sciences, monastic herb gardens developed into botanic gardens. Thus, the original function of these gardens was to display plants for medicinal use. The section where herbs were grown became the β€œGarden of Simples”, a ‘simple’ being an herb used on its own in medical treatment.

This beautiful leaf is an actual pressed leaf, NOT a print. The leaf comes from a real cannabis plant, grown legally in the state of Michigan.

It comes in a wooden frame, 5″ x 7″ in size, that is both self-standing and hangable. Glass front.

Each pressed leaf art is unique. As in nature, no two leaves are exactly alike!

β€’ I use organic, handmade paper upon which I attached the leaves using the best archival Japanese paste.
β€’ Each leaf is sealed with an archival safe varnish to preserve its color and integrity.
β€’ Solid wood frames in black, white and brown, as chosen by me to correspond best with the leaf.
β€’ The back of each picture includes a tag denoting the components.
β€’ Picture can stand on its own or be hung with a metal triangle hook on the back of the frame.

How They’re Made
Each leaf is picked and pressed until dried, then preserved with UV resistant archival spray to ensure color integrity. The handmade paper is cut and sometimes torn to fit the frame. Then, the leaf is pasted onto the paper using a special archival quality Japanese paste. Once dried, it is sprayed once again with UV lacquer and then framed.

Disclaimer: Any and all seeds, leaves, and/or other parts of the cannabis plant have been encased in archival paste and/or polyurethane resin and have been rendered unable and unsafe for consumption. Under no circumstances are any of these byproducts of the cannabis plant able to be consumed. They are unsafe for human and animal consumption. For decorative purposes only.

Each piece is made by me in my studio right here in northwest Indiana, and is one-of-a-kind. I choose my materials very carefully for quality and provenance, including cruelty-free and eco-harvesting. All purchases come carefully packaged and ready for gift-giving!

Sincerely, your Stone Sister,
